This 85 degree Southern California weather is only getting me even more excited about summer. This is a flash back friday edition of last summer. I just got back from Bali and enjoyed a nice sunny day at the park with family. I was able to score a few of these super cute and equally comfy pom pom shorts. They are so airy and perfect for a hot summer day. Since it is festival season, I thought this outfit would be a great outfit idea for a boho inspired look. Loosely fitted cotton shorts can be a great alternative to denim shorts since they can be a bit more airy for hot days. They will definitely be a staple in every girls closet this summer!

A couple months ago our good friend Ellie from Story Box Collection came over and did a photo-shoot with my sister and I and our newest addition to the family, Rayden. Rayden is a natural ham. It’s always a fun time when we work with Ellie. The shoot inevitably ends up being a time for my sister and I to act silly, goof around, and pretty much laugh about everything.
How cute is Rayden though? I absolutely cannot get enough of that lil guy. Since my sister lives up north, anytime I get to spend with her, let alone to be able to have a photo-shoot with her, is never taken for granted. Family is always number one in my book. My new love for my nephew is also a bigger reason why I would want to see my sister more often. They really need to have a bullet train that can take you from LA to SF.
The kimono I am wearing was handmade by my sister. We love boho chic fashion, flowy styles, and versatile pieces. Kimonos are great because you can dress them up or down. Whether you pair it with a dress, jeans, or over your bikini at the beach, there’s always an occasion to wear them. Kimonos can be made to order, so check out our etsy store or email us at email@example.com for inquires.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend with loved ones!

Last month my now 8-month preggo sister had a maternity photo shoot with the very talented and fabulous StoryBox Collection at Laguna Beach, CA. Winter in SoCal this year felt like summer. I mean, 75-80 degree weather in December? How amazing is that! So it was only appropriate and perfect to have a photo shoot at the beach. I obviously was a lil party crasher and was luckily able to sneak in a few minutes with our photographer, Ellie, to take some shots with my beautiful sister. We absolutely loved how the pictures turned out. Please check out http://storyboxcollection.com for more of her awesome photography.
My sister and I decided to wear kimonos for this shoot because we felt it was the perfect beach outfit to frolic in the sand with. It’s fun, loose, laid back, and has that Cali-cool vibe. I personally love kimonos because you can dress them down with denim cutoff jeans and chunky boots, or dress them up with a nice dress, or wear them as a cover-up at the beach. The links above are a couple kimonos I think are adorable.

From Christy: We are so excited to share another round of these dope photos taken by our lovely friend Ellie from Storyboxcollection. Here is our first post of the amazing photography by Ellie at powder canyon park. This time around my sister and I decided to channel our inner boho chic and go for a more free-spirited vibe. I absolutely love long flowy dresses and obsessed with the color mint, one of my favorite colors. They are easy, breezy, and you can dress them up or down effortlessly.
You can easily take you favorite spring/summer dress and wear it for fall by just adding a leather jacket or a chunky knit cardigan and some booties. Throw on some tights or leggings too if you need extra warmth for your legs. And how amazing is my sisters floral kimono? So fun! I always have a great ‘ol time being silly and goofy with my sister, it’s what we do best. ..and I MISS her terribly!
From Leah: We took these shots right before I made the big move to the midwest. I always have a blast with my sister. As you can tell, I don’t like being on camera. I’m usually the person behind the scenes, so trying to model or even pose is hilarious to me. I tried…I seriously just followed what my sister does and laugh hysterically moments right after. Thanks to Ellie for baring with me! HAHA! My sister can always make me laugh. Writing this post really makes me miss her. I love these pictures because it takes me back at the moment…with my sister in CA.
