This 85 degree Southern California weather is only getting me even more excited about summer. This is a flash back friday edition of last summer. I just got back from Bali and enjoyed a nice sunny day at the park with family. I was able to score a few of these super cute and equally comfy pom pom shorts. They are so airy and perfect for a hot summer day. Since it is festival season, I thought this outfit would be a great outfit idea for a boho inspired look. Loosely fitted cotton shorts can be a great alternative to denim shorts since they can be a bit more airy for hot days. They will definitely be a staple in every girls closet this summer!
Hat: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Vince Camuto
It’s been a minute since I’ve gotten the chance to post on the blog. Summer has been keeping me a busy bee lately, so my apologies for my hiatus! I just got back from an AH-MAZING trip to Thailand and Bali. It was THE BEST experience ever. Stay tuned for more posts and pictures from all my Thailand and Indonesia adventures.
During my stay at Bali, I scored this awesome tie dye dress from a boutique. The style and cut was so cute that I just had to buy it. Shopping was amazing in Bali. I also got to to hit up a couple of fabric stores during my stay, which I was so excited about. I can’t wait to share with you some pictures from my trip!
It’s been crazy hot lately here in SoCal, so this flowy dress was an ideal summer outfit. Perfect for a day to night look as well by simply changing from cute sandals to fun wedges or heels for your night look.
Happy Friday Everyone! Cheers to the weeeeeeekend!

This past weekend I visited Leah, and new mom, in Kansas City, Missouri. More importantly, I was there for the baptism of my godson, Rayden Luke! Let me tell you, he is one cutie patootie. I can’t deal with how freakin cute he is! It felt so good to be around my family and sister again. Nothing really beats quality time with family.
The last time I visited my brother-in-law and sister, my sister literally just got out of labor so we couldn’t really go out and gallivant since she was still in “recovery” mode. Luckily, this time around she was back to her old self – full of energy and always doing five things at the same time. It’s the story of our lives for both of us to always be multi-tasking and doing something. We are definitely fun and silly characters when we are together.
Leah and I finally had a day to just hang, grub, talk about random things, and shop! Oh how we both missed our shopping buddy and roll dawg. I was fortunate enough to also spend my sisters first Mother’s Day with her. So we had brunch that day, went shopping, grabbed a mint green tea latte, and just had QT time together. I’m SOOO looking forward to more days like that again since she is officially going, going, back back to Cali!! YEEEE!
By the way, how fun is this Audrey Hepburn shirt? First of all, I love the girl! Most def one of my fashion icons of all time. But even better…she’s holding donuts! And I love donuts!! It’s silly, it’s fun….love!
White Top: F21 + Denim Shorts: Zara + Knotted Headband: H&M + Sandals: Aldo
We love accessories and headbands and head wraps are not exceptions. Since I’m currently obsessing over knotted headbands, my sister and I started making our own DIY versions using this tutorial guide we found while browsing through the internet, http://www.lovestitched.com/my-tutorial/knotted-jersey-headband-tutorial/. Throughout the years, we have collected so many cool fabric, that we had some to spare and use to make knotted headbands. So simple and easy to make.
If you don’t feel crafty or don’t have the time to make knotted headbands, you can grab cool and fun ones from http://www.lemonsandlace.com. Lemons and Lace sell super cute ones for women, toddlers, and babies. Nothing screams out adorable more than a Mom and Daughter wearing matching headbands! So easy to wear and spice up any ordinary outfit. It’s definitely more of a statement piece, but have fun with it!
Silk blouse: Madewell, similar here
Denim cutoff shorts: Vintage Levi’s, similar here
Chunky Heel Shoe: Steve Madden
Rings: RLRB collection
I love the effortless look of a silk blouse. You can easily wear it for any occasion – at the office, at a nice dinner date, out shopping, brunch with the girls, the list goes on and on. Silk blouses are so easy to dress up with a pencil skirt and nice peep-toe heels, or dress down like what I did here with your favorite denim cutoffs. There’s definitely a “Cali-Cool” yet polished vibe from silk blouses. I’m slowly building up my collection with basic colors and fun printed ones. I scored this fun printed blouse during a sale at Madewell.
This past weekend was perfect. Amazing weather, great company, and I indulged myself with bomb.com food! Hope you all had a great one as well!
The Milkbraid- For short or long hair
It’s basically two braids but backwards
Step 1 // Split hair in 2
Step 2 // Braid hair starting from the back of your head all the way to top of your head. Braid until the end and secure the braid with a thin elastic band or bobby pins. For longer hair, continue your braid until you reach the other side.
Step 3 // Repeat step 2 to other side
Step 4 // Wrap the left braid to the other side and secure with bobby pins
Step 5 // Wrap the right braid over the left and secure with bobby pins
Step 6 // Loosen up the braids and secure more pins if necessary
Step 7 // Spray with hairspray
Leah // So I’m the sister that can do hair. My hair is frizzy and out of control. Putting up in a braid puts them in place. Since moving to the middle of america where it is humid, this hairstyle will become my to-go-to when I have bad hair days. And yes, I have a lot of bad hair days. Since my sister was in town, I decided to do her hair. Her hair is longer than mine. It was easier to do this hairstyle with longer hair, but very doable with shorter hair as well.
Christy // Here is the same creme blazer my sister wore in “The Grass is Greener” post. I dressed it down by wearing a tank and some denim shorts. I was actually wearing some red nike sneakers similar to these before wearing these amazing blue Zara heels. It instantly took my outfit from Day to Night, without me having to change anything else. I love mixing different styles together for a more unexpected look. Happy Friday everyone!!
