I am so fortunate to be living in Southern California.  To be able to wake up to sunshine 350 days of the year and enjoy summer weather in the winter, definitely puts a smile to my face.  I mean, who would complain?  This outfit has been pretty much my staple for the past month.  I have been a repeat offender…#guilty.  These are all timeless and basic staples I think every girl should have in her closet.  It’s easy to mix and match with other things, dress up or down.  For a day to night look, swap your sneakers for your favorite heeled bootie and throw on a bling statement necklace and BOOM … you are ready for a night out.   Happy Thursday!

Ah, I love shopping for baby clothes!  I always gravitated towards baby girl clothes because I thought they were so ridiculously cute.  Plus, I related to them more since I didn’t really grow up with boys.  However, now that I have a precious baby boy, shopping for boys are equally as fun and exciting.  Here’s a cute idea for cold day out for an adorable little baby boy.  I mean, how cute is this?  My son definitely has baby swag, he dresses better than his Dad… haha.  I’m finding myself shopping more for my son than myself.  When I enter a store, I head straight to the baby section.  Times have definitely changed, but I love it.  I’ll be doing more baby outfit posts in the future.  Stay tuned!

Chill

Life has totally changed ever since my awesome son came into my life.  Mommy life is dope!  I mean, I don’t get as much sleep and I’m in my PJs all day, but I wouldn’t change anything for the world.  I also have only 5 minutes to get ready to go out, so it’s been quick, easy, and simple outfits.  I’m loving this sporty look.  Sweater, midi skirt, cool sneakers, beanie, sunglasses, and of course a cool backpack instead of a diaper bag.  It’s all about being comfy now for me.  You can easily turn this outfit up with a pair of boots and a leather moto jacket, oh and don’t forget a fuchsia or bright red lipstick.

There’s no denying our love for booties! It’s the must-have staple for Fall. These booties have been in heavy rotation for me in the last month or so..…siiiike! I wish I owned all these beauties. They are so fun to dress up or dress down for any occasion. Which one is your favorite?

Without a doubt, I have always been a huge fan of yellow. With Fall in the air, mustard yellow is the perfect transition from Summer yellows to Fall yellows. I am also currently obsessed with distressed, ripped denim. In my opinion, the more holes, the better. Whether it be boyfriend jeans, or skinnies, there’s something about the edginess of the jeans that just makes an outfit that much cooler. Since there’s always sunshine here in SoCal, I thought this outfit is a perfect one to transition from Summer to Fall. The heat has finally subdued and I can finally wear jeans without feeling sticky. Plus, the holes in these River Island jeans give you some ventilation. There’s a bunch of cute styles at Zara too. To top off this look, I chose a bright red lipstick from NARS for a pop of color. I mean, you can never go wrong with a bold red lip.

Mid Century Modern

                                               

Moving from the Midwest to SoCal and now to San Francisco, has really allowed me to play with new and different interior design aesthetics. I’ve been religiously pinning away for new inspirations and ideas. I love interior design that is fun, classic, and versatile. More specifically, I’ve been really intrigued with mid-century modern furniture. It’s clean lines and modern feel can truly make any space feel chic.

For great deals on cool and fun furniture, check out your local flea market. My sister and I recently checked out the long beach flea market and found a vendor that sold mid-century modern furniture for great deals. There are truly a plethora of hidden gems at flea markets. Plus, you can practice your negotiation skills to get the best deals that fit your budget. Above are some staple pieces that can be versatile enough to mix and match with different styles, patterns, and textile – i.e. rugs, throw pillows, and curtains. I am definitely eyeing these beauties!

Here’s a summertime outfit that would be perfect for a day out in the sun.  I love mixing stripes and patterns.  Here we have a black and white striped crop top paired with a colorful floral print skirt.  A black and white strip pattern can easily be paired with any colorful printed pattern.  The two patterns make for a cool and interesting outfit.  To top off the outfit, pair with a bright bag to give the outfit a pop of more color.   So enjoy the summer!  Get your tan on!

 

Stripes

 

It’s no surprise that when all else fails and I’m literally running out of time to figure out what to wear, I resort to grabbing one of my striped tees.  Stripes are such a classic print that can pretty much go with everything, including prints like florals, plaids, leopard, etc.

Here are two very similar outfits I wore this past weekend.   Apparently I was in a very stripe mood.  I must also say the outfit on the right can easily be a day to night outfit.  This can be something casual you wear to the office and then straight to dinner and happy hour with friends.  Adding a pop of color with stripes is also super easy to do.  A bright red lipstick or a fun colored pump can most def be a game changer to any outfit.

Ripped denim jeans and a good ‘ol plaid shirt can always be my “go-to” outfit whether I’m running errands or grabbing dinner with friends.  By swapping your day flats to your fav heels, a parka for a leather jacket, and a cross-body bag for a cute purse, you can easily take this look from day to night in so many ways.

Super excited that it’s a short work week! What I’m most exited for is getting to see my sister this week for Thanksgiving! It’s been too long since I’ve seen that girl, and boy do I miss her crazy ass!  Even though we bicker on a daily, I definitely miss her living here in Cali.  I’m counting down the days till she moves back to the west coast!
