A Different Day, a Different Bootie

Booties We Do Adore

There’s no denying our love for booties! It’s the must-have staple for Fall. These booties have been in heavy rotation for me in the last month or so..…siiiike! I wish I owned all these beauties. They are so fun to dress up or dress down for any occasion. Which one is your favorite?

Without a doubt, I have always been a huge fan of yellow. With Fall in the air, mustard yellow is the perfect transition from Summer yellows to Fall yellows. I am also currently obsessed with distressed, ripped denim. In my opinion, the more holes, the better. Whether it be boyfriend jeans, or skinnies, there’s something about the edginess of the jeans that just makes an outfit that much cooler. Since there’s always sunshine here in SoCal, I thought this outfit is a perfect one to transition from Summer to Fall. The heat has finally subdued and I can finally wear jeans without feeling sticky. Plus, the holes in these River Island jeans give you some ventilation. There’s a bunch of cute styles at Zara too. To top off this look, I chose a bright red lipstick from NARS for a pop of color. I mean, you can never go wrong with a bold red lip.

Happy Monday!

Dress: Boutique from Bali – cute ones here, here, and here

Shoes: Vince Camuto

It’s been a minute since I’ve gotten the chance to post on the blog.   Summer has been keeping me a busy bee lately, so my apologies for my hiatus!  I just got back from an AH-MAZING trip to Thailand and Bali.  It was THE BEST experience ever.  Stay tuned for more posts and pictures from all my Thailand and Indonesia adventures.

During my stay at Bali, I scored this awesome tie dye dress from a boutique.  The style and cut was so cute that I just had to buy it.   Shopping was amazing in Bali.  I also got to to hit up a couple of fabric stores during my stay, which I was so excited about.  I can’t wait to share with you some pictures from my trip!

It’s been crazy hot lately here in SoCal, so this flowy dress was an ideal summer outfit.  Perfect for a day to night look as well by simply changing from cute sandals to fun wedges or heels for your night look.

Happy Friday Everyone! Cheers to the weeeeeeekend!

Shopping Tag Team: Phillip Lim for Target

It’s 3am and I wake up to see that the Phillip Lim for Target just opened up for sale online.  Immediately I search for the mini satchel bag and to my dismay it was all sold out!  Really, at 3am?!!  I text my sister and I don’t really care that it’s 1am and that she has a hangover.  I need to remind her to wake up in time as Target opens at 8am.   Twenty text messages later and she still hasn’t responded.  UGH.  I can’t sleep so I’m searching on which stores have these bags on sale and BOOM… I found a store just a couple miles from me.  Hours later I head to Target.

Back in CA there are always lines at these big collaboration sales.  Luckily there was no line at all here in KC.  I literally had no one to compete with.  SCORE!  Walked in there and swooped in those purchases you see above!  I got too excited, my husband thinks I’m crazy, but whatever, he can watch football all day while I stare proudly at my purchases.  So hours later, my sister still hasn’t called me.  So I call her because I’m so excited with my purchases and wake her up.  She picks up drowsy and hungover.  I tell her to wake her ass up!  Minutes later she’s on her way to Target while I’m on FaceTime the whole time.   Long story short… she also snagged some great pieces!  Anywhoo…whenever these sales occur I’m always tag-teaming with my sister.  We are a duo you don’t wanna mess with!  HAHA just kidding.  Here are some few tips for these sales:

1. Do you research:  They usually have a lot of previews of the items selling.  See what you like and check to see if your store carries it

2. Wear comfy clothes:  If you gotta run to your perfect bag, then you gotta run.  Also wear a tank and leggings so that you can try on clothes without going to the fitting room.  Christy loves to do this and I’m always on the lookout to see if anyone is watching.

3. Plan attack:  Plan how you will approach the items.  For example, I would look at bags…while Christy would look at clothes or she would take the left side or I would take the right side.

4. Nourish yourself:  Always come to a shopping spree on a full stomach, you don’t want to be thinking about food as you wait in a long line.

5. Treat yourself:  After your intense shopping spree treat yourself to a nice lunch or boba!

Till next time!

Deals & Steals: Work Pants

J Crew Minnie Pant // Target Mossimo Ankle Pant

I don’t know about you, but I hate shopping for work clothes.  I’d rather buy a comfy harem pant then a pair of slacks.  My last job was great because I could wear jeans all week long.  It was so easy to get dressed in the morning.  I could wake up at 7:30 and be out of the house by 8:00.  I didn’t have to think about what to wear.  Since I have moved, I’ve found a new job and to my dismay it’s business casual four days of the week!  Yikes, I gave all my work clothes to my sister and now I don’t have any work clothes.  So, my sister got the J Crew Minnie Pant a while ago.  I tried them on and loved it.  We still lived together so I didn’t bother to buy my own since I could always borrows hers.  Now that I’m hundreds of miles away, I had to get my own pair.  So on my weekly trips to Target I stumbled upon these Mossimo Ankle Pant, tried them on and loved them!  I immediately tried them on, took a picture and sent to my sister.  My sister couldn’t tell the difference!  Also, just for 27.99..compared to 89.50!  So of course I bought two!  I love a deal, especially if it’s for work.

Oh, Target…I love how you team up with designers to offer amazing and affordable clothes.  On April 14, Kate Young’s collection will be out at Target!  Here’s some favorite looks from her line.  If you have some weddings or parties to go to…head to Target and buy your outfits there.  My fave look is the white blazer with the silk shorts paired with some ankle strap pointy heels.

About two weeks ago I had a random fun day with my sister at Old Town Pasadena. I love that area – shopping + good food, who could complain?  A food post will be coming shortly to give you a couple of good places to grub around the area.   I adore the architecture around Old Town as well.

The weather has been perfect here in California, warm enough to wear my denim shorts, but still cool enough to wear a light sweater.   I love how my sweater has holes on the shoulders too, it gives it just enough breeze to keep me cool.  The dolce vita wedges were a good find at this little boutique in San Francisco.  I actually own similar ones, but the wedge heel is a lot shorter.  Perfect shoe to wear with shorts and dresses.

The ombre sweater caught my eye right away, especially with its unique cut.  There’s something about the gradual fade from light to dark that intrigues me.  This can be a fun DIY with this sweater from target.  They have them in fun colors too!   All you need to do is cut some holes on the shoulders and you’re good to go!  Hope everyone is having a great week.

My sister and I decided to hit up the Long Beach Flea Market this week and it was full of hidden treasures.  We went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market a couple months ago and scored on some amazing vintage dresser cabinets.  There’s so many cool things that you can find at the flea market and I guarantee you can’t find anywhere else.  If you want cool cheap furniture pieces… you have to go to the flea market.  I took a picture of a couple pieces I love, so go and check check it out!  For more information visit their site.

Sorry we haven’t been blogging in a while, been super busy!  I’ve been spotting starburst mirrors lately and I love it!  They come in different varieties, shapes, and color.  However, they come really pricey and I’m not trying to spend an arm and a leg for one.  To my surprise, out of all places…I found one at Home Depot for a whooping $34.57!  It’s from the Martha Stewart collection.  It’s the perfect size and color.  It’s perfect to put up in a living room or bedroom!
