Feels Like Summer

Coachella style festival style pom pom shorts RLRB summer style pom pom shorts RLRB RLRB coachella style ombre hairThis 85 degree Southern California weather is only getting me even more excited about summer.  This is a flash back friday edition of last summer.  I just got back from Bali and enjoyed a nice sunny day at the park with family.  I was able to score a few of these super cute and equally comfy pom pom shorts.  They are so airy and perfect for a hot summer day.  Since it is festival season, I thought this outfit would be a great outfit idea for a boho inspired look.  Loosely fitted cotton shorts can be a great alternative to denim shorts since they can be a bit more airy for hot days.  They will definitely be a staple in every girls closet this summer!

Cali Cool

Laidback Vibes
I am so fortunate to be living in Southern California.  To be able to wake up to sunshine 350 days of the year and enjoy summer weather in the winter, definitely puts a smile to my face.  I mean, who would complain?  This outfit has been pretty much my staple for the past month.  I have been a repeat offender…#guilty.  These are all timeless and basic staples I think every girl should have in her closet.  It’s easy to mix and match with other things, dress up or down.  For a day to night look, swap your sneakers for your favorite heeled bootie and throw on a bling statement necklace and BOOM … you are ready for a night out.   Happy Thursday!

Hey Baby Girl!

If I had a girl… I would dress her up just like me! hahah!  Here’s an inspiration board for a baby girl.  There’s so many cute outfits for baby girls!  I mean, if they were my size I would totally buy some pieces.  Don’t get me wrong I love dressing up my baby boy!  Hopefully the next one will be a baby girl, if not I will be the Queen on the Manigs House!

A couple months ago our good friend Ellie from Story Box Collection came over and did a photo-shoot with my sister and I and our newest addition to the family, Rayden.   Rayden is a natural ham. It’s always a fun time when we work with Ellie. The shoot inevitably ends up being a time for my sister and I to act silly, goof around, and pretty much laugh about everything.

How cute is Rayden though? I absolutely cannot get enough of that lil guy. Since my sister lives up north, anytime I get to spend with her, let alone to be able to have a photo-shoot with her, is never taken for granted. Family is always number one in my book. My new love for my nephew is also a bigger reason why I would want to see my sister more often. They really need to have a bullet train that can take you from LA to SF.

The kimono I am wearing was handmade by my sister. We love boho chic fashion, flowy styles, and versatile pieces.  Kimonos are great because you can dress them up or down.  Whether you pair it with a dress, jeans, or over your bikini at the beach, there’s always an occasion to wear them.  Kimonos can be made to order, so check out our etsy store or email us at rightleftrightbrain@gmail.com for inquires.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend with loved ones!

Baby It’s Cold Outside

Ah, I love shopping for baby clothes!  I always gravitated towards baby girl clothes because I thought they were so ridiculously cute.  Plus, I related to them more since I didn’t really grow up with boys.  However, now that I have a precious baby boy, shopping for boys are equally as fun and exciting.  Here’s a cute idea for cold day out for an adorable little baby boy.  I mean, how cute is this?  My son definitely has baby swag, he dresses better than his Dad… haha.  I’m finding myself shopping more for my son than myself.  When I enter a store, I head straight to the baby section.  Times have definitely changed, but I love it.  I’ll be doing more baby outfit posts in the future.  Stay tuned!

Chill

Chill
Life has totally changed ever since my awesome son came into my life.  Mommy life is dope!  I mean, I don’t get as much sleep and I’m in my PJs all day, but I wouldn’t change anything for the world.  I also have only 5 minutes to get ready to go out, so it’s been quick, easy, and simple outfits.  I’m loving this sporty look.  Sweater, midi skirt, cool sneakers, beanie, sunglasses, and of course a cool backpack instead of a diaper bag.  It’s all about being comfy now for me.  You can easily turn this outfit up with a pair of boots and a leather moto jacket, oh and don’t forget a fuchsia or bright red lipstick.

A Different Day, a Different Bootie

Booties We Do Adore

There’s no denying our love for booties! It’s the must-have staple for Fall. These booties have been in heavy rotation for me in the last month or so..…siiiike! I wish I owned all these beauties. They are so fun to dress up or dress down for any occasion. Which one is your favorite?

Friday Eye Candy

Haven’t had an “Eye Candy” post in awhile.  So here ya go!

  All images from Refinery29.

This Eye Candy edition is specifically Milan Street style. I love European style sooo much! It’s so effortlessly chic and fabulous. The messy, un-done hair paired with simple statement pieces, definitely makes European styles my favorite.

Happy Friday!

Patara Elephant Farm

Hands down the absolute most memorable experience this summer and in my whole life thus far.  Bold statement, I know.  The Patara Elephant Farm in Chiang Mai, Thailand was such a surreal experience. One of the main reasons why I chose to visit South East Asia was for this sole experience. Close friends and family know that I love and collect anything with elephants on it.  Especially if the trunk is up, which means good luck.

After hours of research for the best farm that didn’t promote mishandling of elephants, I finally stumbled upon Patara Elephant Farm and immediately knew this was the tour to experience.  It allowed each of us to be an elephant owner for the day, which is also called a mahout.

The first thing we had to do was make sure our elephant was happy.   There were 5 things to look for: 1) If their ears were wagging, 2) If they tails were wagging, 3) If they had sweat on their toe nails, 4) If they had at least four pellets of poop, and 5) If they had dirt on the side of their body – meaning, they slept on the ground at night. If they were up all night, more than likely they are not in a good mood the next day.

My elephant was named Memong.  She was 28 years old just like myself.  We first fed our elephants bananas, and local fruits from the farm.

We then were handed a bundle of leaves to dust off the dirt on our elephants skin.  By the way, how amazing was this purple ensemble they all provided us with?  It was the perfect outfit for this activity!

Next, we went to the river bed and washed our elephants.  This was such a surreal experience to be one with nature while also bonding with these amazingly kind creatures.

Of course I had to take a jumping picture with my new friends! Clearly, I was having way too much fun splashing around with them.

We then rinsed off at the fresh waterfall down the river bed.  The water felt so fresh and clean!

Happy Camper indeed! Can you tell by my gigantic smile?!

We ended the 6 hour tour with our elephants with a nice, relaxing, and serene ride along the jungle.  This will definitely one of the BEST days ever in my book.  If you are planning to visit Chiang Mai, please vist the Patara Elephant Farm for a memorable adventure!

TGIF EVERYONE!

Pattern Play

Dress: Brandy Melville + Boots: Steve Madden + Purse: Rebecca Minkoff + Necklace: H&M

When you browse through my closest, you will quickly learn that I own a lot of stripes.  It’s just easy, effortless, and such a classic pattern.  What I also love about it is the fact that you can totally do some pattern play with it.  Plaid is another pattern that I do adore.  Black & white stripes, in particular, and plaid compliment each other very well.  The key here is to make sure one pattern is more subdued than the other.  The last thing you want to do is mix a thick stripe ensemble with huge plaid patterns.

This Brandy Melville striped dress was a must-have the minute I laid eyes on it.  So comfy and chill.  Definitely a day to night dress.  The stripes were thin enough to easily pair it with my plaid top.  For a different pattern play, this would also look good with a camouflage jacket.  With summer slowly coming to an end, try incorporating new patterns to mix and match with in the fall.

Best pick-me-upper? BOBA! We LOVE boba.  If you are ever craving some and in the Millbrae area, check out Eggettes!
